on the surface - pere ubu  1978

a friend of mine introduced me to dub housing almost 20 years ago, i was initially resistant to pere ubu, since i had seen them a couple years earlier open for they might be giants in central park, and didn’t make much of an impression on me at the time.  then i gave this record a listen, and it blew me away.  on the surface was immediately a favorite, it’s got this crazy, nervous energy that makes you want to bounce around the room…enjoy!
